An amazing 2012 – what will 2013 bring?

My 2012 was amazing, to say the least!  I have been in awe of how much good can come from one photo, and one gift to a friend. We have been named to so many “Best of ” lists all over the world that John, Julie, & I can no longer keep track.  My business has grown exponentially, but the best part is that we have been able to spread happiness and love all over the world.  I am a happy, happy girl!  I woke up this morning and decided to stalk some sunrises, sea smoke, and fishing tugs to welcome in the new year.  Please enjoy my gift to you .  Also – my travel schedule for 2013 will be intense – I cannot wait to share the locations for my...

Bayfield AppleFuss – uh I mean AppleFest – Parade

Every year I do photos of the Bayfield AppleFest Parade from the back of a float.  I love getting photos of the crowd!  This year was a bit different because the float was actually for John & I – usually I just hitch a ride on someone elses…  It was crazy to see all of the people who recognized us, but it was also equally hilarious to see the look on peoples’ faces who couldn’t figure out WHO the heck we were .  Here are a few of my faves from the parade – you can see more on my Facebook page as well!                   Contact ME! | Subscribe to Stonehouse Photography by...

Bayfield Blueberries

Bayfield has some amazing orchards and blueberry farms.  Our friend Mike has a blueberry farm named “Garage Mahal”, named after the ginormous garage on the property.  They are starting to get some ripe berries, so he needed some slave labor (aka my husband, Jim) to pick some fruit.  Our dog Scout is also a big fan of blueberries, so he helped as well .  You can see him searching for the ripe berries, and then picking them off gently with his teeth.  Such a smart puppy!                             Contact ME! | Subscribe to Stonehouse Photography by...

Rainbow over Madeline Island

Some days I cannot believe I get to live here.  Yesterday was one of those days!  This rainbow shot was taken on the beach down the street from my house.  We had really amazing weather all day yesterday, and all the moisture in the atmosphere created this absolutely spectacular double rainbow.  The photo itself is actually a composite of 5 images.  I could not get the true scope of the arc with just one shot! If you’d like to buy a print – please see below the photo. Thanks! If you’d like to buy a print – please click here: Contact ME! | Subscribe to Stonehouse Photography by...

Yesterday’s blizzard was a fun one for me to shoot in Bayfield. I made my husband drive around (just kidding – he wanted to so I didn’t hurt myself ) .  I LOVE b&w, so I thought I’d convert all of these.  Enjoy!! To view them at a larger size, click on the photo…  If you are interested in prints, they are available here. [Show as slideshow]

Book Across the Bay in Black & White

Posted by on Feb 20, 2012 in Bayfield & Apostle Islands Photographer, Blog, Personal Work | 0 comments

I had the pleasure of photographing the Book Across the Bay this past weekend – and I’ll be posting lots of photos soon, but I wanted to share this one in particular.  Its the after party in Washburn – complete with fireworks, a live band, and a bonfire.  Who wouldn’t want that after skiing or snowshoeing 10 kilometers over the Chequamegon Bay and Lake Superior?!  By the way this was handheld at a 1/5th of a second – and I am TERRIFIED of fireworks, so I’m pretty proud of myself for actually pulling this off .
