Kat & Andy are getting married on Saturday! We did their engagement session this past winter – and it was FREEZING (but fun!). First we tried to do some shots right outside Duluth on Lake Superior, but it was a bit windy… so we moved to the frozen waterfalls at Lester Park. I am of the opinion that candid moments are the best for wedding photography. Those un-posed moments are when people are at their most graceful and when the true stories come out. There is no awkwardness to these types of photos, which is why I try to concentrate on those while shooting! I came across this photo of Kalli this week while finishing up her & Nick’s wedding. Its was taken in her family’s kitchen moments before we all left for the ceremony. This photo is EXACTLY why I just shoot and don’t direct.
